Christmas season 2021, on my Facebook account I wrote:
Christmas songs for me are sacred. I am awed by the songwriters who composed those beautiful and meaningful Christmas song. Although I am also a songwriter, I don’t think that I can write a Christmas song. It’s one music genre that I will gladly sing but not write about. …Some years ago, during carol season, a friend, Panchatattva Das, asked me to write a song about Christmas. I told him that I can’t because I am basically into protest songs. If I write a Christmas song it will be about my dislike of the many Christmas songs that has got nothing to do with Jesus Christ, the birthday celebrant on Christmas Day. My friend Panchatattva said that my song should be neutral. He gave me a for me is a next to impossible task; I feel sad. Al though I want to please him, I know that I can’t grant his request. But yesterday, Dec. 24, 2021, I came out with an idea and it was only a phrase: “Love is Christmas”. I thought that it was original, popular and deep but at the same time intriguing. The protest aspect is subtle. I was inspired by the idea and I have a whole year to write and finish it and hopefully sing it live on video next Christmas. So, I posted it on my wall so I can’t forget it and at the same see my Facebook-friends reaction to the song title. (You guys’ reaction will be my motivating factor to inspire me more.) The reaction is great. Thank you, dear friends,
